1) Get more information from referring physicians on any contraindications. If contraindications exist, don’t do them.
2) Get more information from the rehab specialist
3) What are the client’s goals?
Remember, you’re not a clinician - you’re a trainer. If someone has physician clearance you should be clear to train compound movements. Stay in your lane.
4) Use graded exposure to build strength in horizontal and vertical pushing/pulling while allowing your client to reach his/her goals
5) Get feedback(Pain, enjoyment) from the client and modify: Load, ROM, Volume, Intensity as needed.
Don’t try to be something you’re not. We’re all personal trainers, not clinicians
